
Angela Hill has spent the last fourteen years performing, teaching and
presenting work throughout the United States. She is co-director for
AH Squared/Dance+Music, a partnership of interactive multimedia
performance that she shares with musician André Hayter.
Angela
was recently the Associate Artistic Director for Circle Modern Dance of
Knoxville, TN, who she was with for ten years as a choreographer,
dancer and teacher for professionals and people of all ages and
abilities. She was formerly a soloist with the Appalachian Ballet
Company for whom she now choreographs. She has received several awards
for her contemporary ballet work on ABC including Regional Dance
America’s National Choreographic Award in 2004 for Flying Dreams.
Angela
has trained with world renowned professionals and performed in works by
choreographers such as Ronald K. Brown, Sean Curran, Amy Morton,
Jennifer Tsukayama and Mark Lamb. In 2001, she earned a BFA in Dance
Education from Arizona State University. She taught for the University
of Tennessee’s dance program from 2002-2006, setting several pieces on
their company. She is happy to be a part of the dance community here
in Sydney where she is currently training in Rolfing and the Hakomi
method of experiential psychotherapy.
