Chanel Leaudais

Chanel Leaudais is a secondary dance educator and emerging integrated dancer in New South Wales. Graduating with a Bachelor of Dance Education in 2009, from the Australian College of Physical Education in Sydney, was the first step towards creating a life dedicated to inclusive dance. Since this time Chanel has been impassioned in advocacy and the artistic development of integrated dance, at an industry standard and within schools.

Chanel is in the early stages of her career yet has worked with Croi Glan Integrated Dance Company in Ireland, French aerial pioneer Genevieve Mazin, danced and choreographed at Catalyst Dance Master Class Series and the Australian Youth Dance Festival alongside Philip Channells, while training extensively in contemporary dance styles with leading professionals. She has also explored several dance therapies, to draw from an array of knowledge.

Alongside such, her educational portfolio supports the development and grounding of skills in teaching and leadership. Most recently, leaving Great Lakes College in 2013 to focus on integrated dance has left her with a gulf of training in the New South Wales education system. She has worked with students with special needs, behavioral difficulties, emotional disturbance and mental health concerns; led a team of learning support staff and endeavoring to leave the school with a greater acceptance for inclusivity.

These experiences are marked as great learning tools for Chanel. Amalgamating, deciphering and exploring how to work best with people with and without disabilities.
