Rosslyn Wythes

Following 13 years of training as a dancer in Orange, Rosslyn graduated WAAPA with BA (Dance) in 2011 with the honour of the Finely Award (student demonstrating most progress). Deciding to move to Sydney in 2012, she has joined artists Carlee Mellow, Lisa Griffths, Sue Healey, Tanya Voges, Rob McCredie and Chimene Prior-Steele in Ausdance and DirtyFeet residences. Rosslyn has presented an improvised solo work 'Balloon Girl' (Homebrew Festival, DirtyFeet Residency 2012) choreographed by Carl Sciberras and ‘Fit to Shift’ for Anya McKee (JUMP mentorship).

Rosslyn has performed with Spanish Company La Fura del Baus for the Perth International Arts Festival Opening Ceremony (2010) and dancing alongside Les Ballets C de la B with Michael Whaites (2011). She was featured in works performed at WAAPA choreographed by Matthew Morris, Sue Peacock, Xiaoxiong Zhang and Dean Walsh.

2013 has already been exciting and full year for Rosslyn, performing at the MCA’s ‘Afterdark series’ for Tanya Voges, ‘140th Anniversary for Centennial Park’ Emi Foster and Kaldor Public Projects ’13 rooms’ by Xu Zhen. As a founding member of Sydney’s newest collective, Dance Makers Collective she created and performed in their premier season ‘Big Dance in Small Chunks’ at Riverside Theatres (FORM Dance Projects and Arts NSW). Rosslyn initiated the first dance residency at visual arts venue ALASKA Projects in Sydney’s Kingscross and presented WAY OUT dance at ALASKA Projects featuring short works by Gemma Dawkins, Jessie Hoeschle, Anya McKee and Tanya Voges.

Rosslyn is currently enjoying the continued development of Flatline Collective’s Sketch at Carriageworks, which will be premiered in 2014 at Riverside Theatres.
