Sarah completed her Post Graduate Diploma (Choreography) at the VCA in 2010 and her Bachelor of Art (Dance) at Deakin in 2004. She is also a qualified school teacher and is passionate about youth dance, currently working as the Dance Trainer for fLiNG Physical Theatre.
She has been involved in room2move, a Geelong based community dance company and has been one third of a collaborative trio called Muted Dialogue performing for friends and charity events. She was also a part of Daniel Louies ‘NightFall’ as a part of his VCA postgraduate season.
She has been influenced and inspired by a diverse range of artists including Helen Herbertson, Becky Hilton, Tanja Liedtke and Martha Graham. She is also influenced and inspired by life experiences, pop culture, the blending of various dance forms, nature and sustainability, experimenting with costume and light throughout the development phase of new works, accessible performances and surprises. 2012 has been a good year for Sarah, as she has completed the Australian Dance Theatre Summer Intensive, Quantum Leaps ‘Soft Landing’ Program and the Australian Youth Dance Festival, along with being appointed to her current role at fLiNG. And finally, she hopes to be actively contributing to the performing arts for a long time to come.
