
As a dancer Steve has performed several pieces with Sarah Boulter and was a choreographic assistant on a piece for her in SYTYCD UK. Taking company classes with companies such as DV8, Hofesh Shechter and ADT and working with and training under the likes of Renauld Wiser (Rambert), Anton, Dean Walsh and Stephen Tannos. A key member and choreography contributor of the hip hop crew Phly Crew who won Australias Best Dance Crew at Looze Control 2010 and represented Australia at the 2011 International Hip Hop Championships as well as supporting Quest Crew and Periotix from USA.
Steve performs regularly as Arbori. Noted by Timber and Steel Blog as “one of Sydney’s most exciting young bands” and that's not all there is to this creative collective from Sydney. Lead man Steve Barnard collaborates closely as songwriter and choreographer with a select group of musicians and dancers to create the unique aesthetic that is Arbori. Combining his training in contemporary, hip hop and ballroom with his indie folk compositions:

With the keen success of singles 'Biology Of Memories' (2010), In the Places You Fold (2012), and collaboration with 2011 Sydney Fringe Festival theater performance “The Will,” Arbori is set to continue to gain momentum and reputation as one of Sydney's most engaging and emotive new acts with the release of their debut EP and dance film project “Polar Bear Swim‟ (Nov 2012).
