Jessie completed a Bachelor of Dance Performance in 2008 from Adelaide College of the Arts, where she had the opportunity to work with choreographers such as Leigh Warren, Jo Lloyd, Michael Carter, Kynan Hughes, and Adam Wheeler. During her time at AC Arts she also performed in independent works by Tobiah Booth-Remmers and Ashleigh Berry, the latter of which was presented within the 2008 Adelaide Fringe Festival.
In 2009 Jessie was selected to participate in QL2's Soft Landing 1 professional development program, directed by Solon Ulbrich and Amelia McQueen. Later that same year she was also one of six stilt walkers within Slack Taxi entertainment group who were flown to Singapore to perform for the Formula 1 Races. In 2010 she collaborated with a group of Adelaide-based independent makers to present "Heavier Than Milk"; a night of short dance works within the Adelaide Fringe Festival where she performed a self-devised solo work titled "She Ain't Heavy". Jessie then performed the work a second time upon request, within Ausdance SA's May Choreolab season.
After spending some time overseas in participating in workshops with Anouk van Dijk, at Impulstanz, Tanz Im August, and Ponderosa Tanzland festivals, Jessie spent some time in Perth to develop "Occupied"; an independent dance work choreographed by Ashleigh Berry. The work was eventually performed within Perth's FringeWorld Festival and as part of the Blue Room Theatre's 2012 Summer Nights season. In 2012 Jessie performed within three dance films; two were directed by Gemma Salomon, and one was a self-directed film presented within Adelaide's South Australian Living Artist Festival. Later that year she performed with SA State Opera and then earlier this year with Opera Australia at the the Sydney Opera House; both for the production of "Orpheus in the Underworld".
